Tim thewes Vice President - Compuware

Tim Thewes is the current Vice President of North American Sales for Compuware and someone I've had the pleasure of knowing for almost 10 years. Having grown up with his son since middle school, he's always been someone I've admired not only for his professional success but as someone with outstanding character. His experience in the software industry is unparalleled and something I hope to one day emulate.

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Calvin Gee in the hopes of helping him secure a position with the Presidential Innovations Fellowship. I understand you are looking for incredibly talented, entrepreneurial people and Calvin is certainly a remarkable young man that meets and quite possibly exceeds the qualifications you desire.

I have known Calvin for nearly 9 years, as he has been a good friend of my son throughout high school as well as roommates for their four years while attending the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. In this time, I have watched Calvin grow from an adolescent boy to that of a fine young man. He has shown that he possesses an entrepreneurial spirit that I have not seen in my lifetime. As I write this, please understand, I have been in the workforce for nearly 28 years, the last 19 in the computer software industry and have met many talented people. None of these people could match the skills that Calvin has shown in a relatively short period of time. He is a self-taught web designer (while in high school) and although he used these skills to earn part-time income, even more impressive is that he volunteered his time to a variety of charitable organizations, most notably in helping children with Autism. Calvin should be commended for his ability to balance his personal life with his studies, work commitments and volunteer efforts. It is truly a rare person who can accomplish this successfully at such a young age.

Throughout my many years in business, I have interviewed and hired numerous people. In that time, there have been very few that made an immediate impact and have proven to be very successful. That being said, it is with my utmost confidence that I truly believe Calvin would be one of these individuals. He is a person you should give serious consideration and one, if offered a position, who will certainly not disappoint.

If desired, I would be more than happy to answer any additional questions or have further discussion regarding Calvin.

Kindest Regards,

Tim Thewes
